Who Are We?

My story begins in an airport. I have always enjoyed watching planes come and go with a variety of travelers. I liked to imagine what kind of life the people had, where were they coming from and what made them tick. Fast forward to graduate school and it seemed a natural to enroll in psychology and counseling. I discovered a whole new world and felt like “a kid in a candy store”.

After graduating, my jobs always involved therapy clinics with medication management options even for children. I found myself searching for strategies that would change behavior and eventually the brain without medications.

However, corporate clinics would not entertain any alternative strategy that does not have easily reimbursable funding.  I believe everyone should have an option to choose a strategy that is healthiest for them. So, I decided to work for myself and with the client decide what counseling plan is in their best interest. Together it’s better!

What Matters to Us…

Family matters. A long time ago as young parents with two daughters of our own, we invited foster children into our home. Our family accepted children ages newborn to six years old with sibling groups preferred. We loved about a dozen kids until they all returned back to their families hopefully stronger.

When our daughters started families of their own we went back to graduate school to pursue additional degrees. Now many years later with several career changes we have seven grandchildren with piano, robotics, soccer, baseball, softball, birthday parties and holidays to celebrate. We haven’t been perfect but we continue to try to put family first.  Check out our blog written by our daughter.
